"This series is a shameless effort to soften the legacy of a vile sexual predator. In the final episode, the gutless friends, coworkers and acquaintances of the predator made me ill with their utterly immoral rationalization of their relationships with him as well as his "legacy". Because he was a talented TV personality, that somehow lessens the horrific nature of his crimes? That is the definition of immorality. There is nothing to take away from this series other than the fact that Smith deserved to go to prison for the rest of his life but for his fame and fortune. The people he surrounded himself with aided and abetted his behavior in order to stay on the gravy train. It's all so tragic and pathetic."

"If you've ever wondered about what happened with the Frugal Gourmet like I did then this movie is for you. I was always kind of 50/50 on if the accusations were true but there is no doubt now. The guy was a volatile drunk and I feel terrible for ever doubting the accusations now. It's obvious a lot of research went into this project and I hope the victims can maybe feel some closure after this. It will never be enough but it may help others be strong enough to report this kind of abuse."

"This was a very well balanced documentary about a flawed - and complicated - person. The cinematography was great, as was the editing. The selections of persons interviewed was a good cross section of persons with differing experiences and relationships with the subject. I really enjoyed this a lot and hope there are more documentaries to come from this team."

"I was a fan of his and actually met him at the SFO airport in the late 80's. I was aware of the scandal but learned a lot more with the documentary. I was disappointed, angry and really sad with what I learned about Jeff Smith"
